New ways to visualize and analyze hydrologic time-series data - Application and case studies A hydrologic time‐series dataset plotted as a raster hydrograph "time map" and analyzed in a GIS‐like manner offers water resources scientists and professionals an alternative approach to examining time-series data. The techniques discussed can integrate time‐series data from numerous sources such as observations, model output, or other time‐based data. Applications include multi‐timescale pattern identification, data QA/QC, change in flow plots, and other visualization techniques. Two analysis methods presented include a GIS-based approach and the use of configuration metrics based on the landscape ecology habitat analysis program FRAGSTATS.
