The Surprising Past and Uncertain Future of the Colorado River Abstract The magnificent Colorado River, natural wonder and lifeblood of 40 million people and 5.5 million acres of farmland, is now deemed “over-allocated” and “drying up”. This non-technical talk re-tells the story of the basin that brings us to this point. Climate change points to a "deeply" uncertain future; how might it be possible to sustain this resource and natural treasure for the future? In addition Professor Zagona will provide an overview of CADSWES: The Center for Advanced Decision Support for Water and Environmental Systems is a research center in CEAE founded in the mid-1980's. This informational talk will briefly describe the Center, its projects and research team and answer any questions.
