Graduate Study at the University of Colorado at Boulder

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado offers graduate studies in the Building Systems Program, leading to the degrees of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy. The program is designed to accommodate all engineering graduates. Graduates in mathematics, science, architecture and other areas can also complete the program by taking additional courses. See the BSP Program Guide for more details about program content and degree requirements.

The faculty members in the program represent a wide variety of interests with emphasis on building systems analysis, artificial intelligence applications to buildings, HVAC and building environmental design and modeling, energy management, intelligent buildings and building controls, renewable energy and illumination. Facilities for experimental component and system testing are available as well as equipment for energy analysis and on-site testing of buildings. We use the case study approach for realistic exposure of our students to relevant problems. A variety of excellent computing facilities is available in the department and throughout the University.
