Prerequisites
Entering students in the Hydrology, Water Resources & Environmental Fluid Mechanics program are required to have proficiency in the following undergraduate courses (with equivalent courses at CU listed):
- Four semesters of calculus, including multi-variable calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations (equivalent to APPM 1350, APPM 1360, APPM 2350, and APPM 2360).
- Two semesters of physics (equivalent to PHYS 1110, PHYS 1120).
- One semester of statics (equivalent to CVEN 2121).
- One semester of fluid mechanics (equivalent to CVEN 3313).
Students who do not meet these requirements may be admitted “with deficiencies,” in which case they must enroll in specified undergraduate courses at the beginning of their graduate program. Courses taken to fulfill deficiencies do not contribute towards the student’s graduate degree. Applicants with excessive deficiencies may be asked to rectify some or all of the deficiencies at other institutions before admission can be granted.
