Undergraduate Studies

The department grants degrees in the areas of civil engineering or architectural engineering. Civil engineering is the professional discipline focused on the planning, design, construction, and management of the built environment, as well as the interaction between the built environment and the natural environment.

Architectural engineering is the professional discipline which focuses on the design, integration, and coordination of building engineering systems, including structural systems; heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems; building automation and controls systems; acoustical systems; and lighting and electrical systems.

The CEAE department has a strong and diverse group of faculty and staff, and is currently ranked 22 out of 143 departments in the United States by US News and World Report.
