Dear Colleague, The Fifth U.S. National Congress on Computational Mechanics will be held at the University of Colorado at Boulder on August 4-7, 1999, in the wonderful setting of the Rocky Mountains. We (Patrick Le Tallec and Daniel Rixen) are organizing a minisymposium on Domain Decomposition Techniques. Knowing your interest in that field and hoping to hear about your latest research, we would like to extend to you our cordial invitation to give a presentation. This Minisymposium will provide a forum for discussing new advances in Domain Decomposition methods, from the theoretical basis to algorithms, implementation issues and applications to structural and fluid mechanics. Papers are solicited in the following areas, with some insight on the relevant applications : o Primal and dual domain decomposition methods o Iterative solvers and convergence acceleration procedures o Multigrid and multi-level algorithms o Non-conforming mesh, fictitious domains and overlapping methods o Substructuring methods and model reduction o Domain decomposition for eigenvalue and non-linear problems o Parallel computing, mesh partitioning and implementation issues o Industrial applications and software If you are interested in contributing to this minisymposium, please e-mail a one-page abstract of up to 400 words before December 31, 1998 to one of us: ------------------------- Daniel Rixen rixen@gnat.colorado.edu +1-303-735-4650 (tel) ------------------------- Prof. Patrick Le Tallec letallec@ceremade.dauphine.fr +33-1-44 05 46 75 (Tel) ------------------------- Description of the minisymposium and details for submitting your contribution are given at http://civil.colorado.edu/usnccm99/MiniSymposia.d/List.html We will send announcement flyers upon request. Information about the fifth USNCCM can also be found on the web at http://civil.colorado.edu/usnccm99 Feel free to forward this invitation to any colleague who might be interested in contributing to the conference. Looking forward to reading you soon, Daniel Rixen & Patrick Le Tallec
