Abstract: This talk will give an overview of current and recent activities in my research group.  Using a combination of numerical, theoretical, and experimental approaches, we study mixing and reactions between passive and active scalars in both laminar and turbulent flows.  Applications include the transport of chemical plumes in aquatic environments, and the effect of structured mixing on reaction enhancement.
