Long Term Test Cell

A saturated test cell was prepared on 9/3/98 to examine the long-term storage effects. The specimen was compressed 3/1/99 and disassembled 3/3/99. During the seven months of storage, the test cell was filled with deionized water. Tap water was introduced to the specimen during testing, and present in the test cell for the two days between testing and disassembly.

During disassembly, several pictures were taken to record the state of the equipment. Below are several of the photographs. Clicking on each photograph will link you to a larger version for closer inspection.
